Tyler is a skilled litigator who focuses his practice on commercial and environmental litigation. Before joining Rigby Slack, Tyler served in the Environmental Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General for over six and half years. He represented the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and the Texas Veterans Land Board. His practice focused on Texas Superfund cases, Texas Emissions Reduction Plan breach of contract cases, utility administrative appeals under the Administrative Procedure Act, and Texas Veterans Land Board eviction cases.
Tyler’s passion for environmental law goes beyond the courtroom. Tyler is the founder of the Clean Initiative Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that facilitates the remediation of environmentally contaminated properties by providing grant funding to assist low-income landowners in need of financial assistance across Texas and California. Through Tyler’s experience litigating on behalf of the State of Texas against landowners, Tyler realized more could be done to partner with landowners and work together to clean up Texas. Tyler also finds time to teach environmental law at St. Mary’s University School of Law.
Tyler enjoys golfing (when his wife lets him) and spending time with his wife and their two wonderful kids.
Tyler graduated from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business with a BBA in Management and attended St Mary’s University School of Law where he graduated cum laude.
