Tyler J. Ryska is a skilled litigator whose practice focuses on administrative and regulatory litigation, with an emphasis on environmental and utility law. He represents clients in contested cases, enforcement actions, and related proceedings before the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, the State Office of Administrative Hearings, and in both Texas state and federal courts. Tyler has significant experience counseling clients on regulatory compliance, permitting, and enforcement matters involving waste, water, and air issues.

Before joining Rigby Slack, Tyler served for more than six years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office, where he represented state agencies in complex environmental and administrative litigation. His work included matters involving Texas Superfund sites and utility appeals under the Administrative Procedure Act.

Tyler is the founder of the Clean Initiative Project, a nonprofit organization that provides remediation funding to assist low-income landowners in Texas. He also serves as an adjunct instructor teaching environmental law at St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Tyler earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Mary’s University School of Law. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his wonderful wife and two children.
